On 11 August 2026, the KREASI Program (Kolaborasi untuk Edukasi Anak Indonesia) conducted a cross-learning visit to the INOVASI Program’s implementation area in Cirebon District, West Java. The visit focused on inclusive literacy practices, particularly the use of accommodative literacy assessments to help teachers identify and respond to children’s diverse learning needs, including those experiencing learning difficulties.
During visits to MIN 1 Cirebon and SDN 1 Japura Kidul, the KREASI team observed how schools put inclusive literacy practices into action. These included accommodative literacy assessment tools, inclusive reading corners, literacy-rich classrooms, and teaching materials adapted to different reading abilities. Such approaches enable teachers to better understand students’ learning progress and provide support based on their individual needs.
The visit also brought together KREASI, INOVASI, and education stakeholders in Cirebon, including local government representatives, universities, literacy communities, and organisations of persons with disabilities. KREASI shared its experience implementing Catch-Up Clubs (CuC), a play-based approach to strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills. The exchange provided opportunities for both programs to share insights and explore ways to advance inclusive literacy and quality basic education in Indonesia.
