KREASI Tanggamus organized the second phase of its Joyful Transition from Preschool to Primary School Campaign on 15 July 2026. The activity specifically engaged 25 parents of Grade 1 students as part of efforts to create a positive and child-friendly transition into primary education.
The campaign highlighted the important role of parents in supporting children’s readiness to learn. Through this initiative, KREASI promotes alignment between parenting practices at home and learning processes at school so that children can experience the transition from preschool to primary school in a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable manner.
The second phase of the campaign focused on strengthening parents’ roles in child-rearing and increasing family participation in supporting children’s education. To gather direct input from parents, the activity included a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session.
Through these discussions, participants were encouraged to share their aspirations, experiences, and expectations regarding ideal early childhood education services. The insights gathered provided valuable perspectives on children’s needs from the family viewpoint while also helping strengthen collaboration between parents and schools.
Afifah Asna Dewi, Head of the Early Childhood and Community Education Division at the Tanggamus District Education Office, explained that three key areas must be strengthened to build a high-quality early childhood education ecosystem in Tanggamus District.
The first is improving the quality of learning so that it is enjoyable and aligned with children’s developmental stages. The second is strengthening parents’ roles in caregiving and encouraging their active participation in their children’s education. The third is enhancing cross-sector collaboration through partnerships with the Bunda PAUD Working Group, PKK, and various local government agencies to support the development of child-centered policies and programs.
“Cross-sector collaboration is essential for identifying needs, developing support programs, and generating policy recommendations that can have a meaningful impact on improving early childhood education services,” she explained.
Suardi, Director of the KREASI Program at LP Ma’arif PBNU, also expressed his appreciation for the campaign. According to him, directly involving parents in the discussion process is an important step toward ensuring that educational programs and policies are more responsive to the needs of children and their families.
“Listening directly to parents’ aspirations helps us gain a more comprehensive understanding of children’s needs. We hope that the KREASI Program will continue to strengthen collaboration among schools, families, and local government so that children can experience their transition into formal education with joy and adequate support,” he said. Through this initiative, KREASI Tanggamus hopes that more parents will recognize the importance of their role in supporting their children’s learning journey. With strong collaboration among families, schools, and local government, every child can begin their primary education with positive, enjoyable learning experiences that support their overall development and well-being.
