KREASI Tanggamus conducted capacity-building training for 90 early grade teachers from 23–26 June 2026. The activity involved Grade 1, 2, and 3 teachers from 30 schools.
The training was held at four locations across Pugung, Bulok, Wonosobo, and Semaka sub-districts. A total of 20 Local Facilitators (Fasda) previously trained by KREASI were divided into four teams to deliver the materials at each location.
The training focused on an in-depth review of the KREASI Program’s Literacy Module 1 to strengthen teachers’ capacity to implement student-centred learning. In addition to foundational literacy, teachers developed their understanding of classroom management, positive discipline, inclusive education, and climate change.
TPD Officer of KREASI Tanggamus, Ari Prayoga, said the technical training emphasized practical application so participants could directly implement the new methods in their respective classrooms.
“We designed the four-day training to go beyond theoretical presentations. We emphasized practical application through simulation sessions and in-depth reflection, enabling participating teachers to become familiar with these new methods,” he said.
He explained that the target was clear: every teacher should return with a concrete Follow-up Action Plan (RTL) ready to be implemented to significantly improve students’ foundational literacy skills in Tanggamus.
Meanwhile, Director of KREASI at LP Ma’arif PBNU, Suardi, highlighted the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in creating child-friendly basic education environments that respond to changing times.
“Through the KREASI initiative, LP Ma’arif PBNU is fully committed to delivering meaningful change towards effective and equitable basic education for all children,” he said.
According to him, the training was not only about reading and writing skills. It also focused on creating child-friendly learning environments, respecting differences through teaching methods tailored to students’ needs, and introducing global issues such as climate change from an early age.
“Strong collaboration with the Government of Tanggamus District and other stakeholders is the key to sustaining this initiative,” he said.
As the final output of the training, participants were required to develop an RTL document to guide their work in their respective schools. This concrete step is expected to support the program’s sustainability and bring positive changes that students can directly experience in the classroom.
