KREASI Tanggamus, implemented by LP Ma’arif NU, held an Education Ecosystem Mapping Workshop on 21–22 May 2026. The workshop was attended intensively by 25 participants representing various key stakeholders in Tanggamus District, including the Education Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Bapperida, the Child Protection Office, and local civil society organizations.
Representative of the KREASI Program Director of LP Ma’arif NU, Saiful A’la, in his remarks, outlined four main objectives to be achieved through the workshop.
“The first is aligning understanding to establish a shared perception between the implementing team and regional stakeholders regarding the concept of an Education Ecosystem that supports literacy, numeracy, and inclusion,” he said.
Second, the workshop aimed to map ideal and actual conditions in order to identify gaps between the current education ecosystem and the expected ideal conditions in Tanggamus District.
“The third is determining the direction of advocacy to formulate priorities and local advocacy policy directions that will be implemented during the program’s second year. Lastly, we want to build collaborative synergy to strengthen the commitment and active roles of each stakeholder within this ecosystem,” he explained.
KREASI Save the Children Advocacy Coordinator, Rikson Simanjuntak, emphasized the importance of accurately determining the direction of the education ecosystem. According to him, the success of the program depends greatly on strong and comprehensive engagement from all levels.
“We need to set a clear direction for the education ecosystem in Tanggamus. The approach taken must be holistic and not fragmented,” he said.
He added that the active engagement of all actors present was key to addressing challenges and aligning shared goals.
The workshop was officially opened by the Head of Research, Development, and Community Service (P3M) Division of Bapperida Tanggamus District, David Erwin Gunawan, who attended on behalf of the Head of Bapperida Tanggamus.
In his opening remarks, David Erwin Gunawan expressed appreciation for the KREASI Program initiative and affirmed the local government’s commitment to improving the quality of education.
“To build an advanced and high-quality education sector in Tanggamus District, it cannot be done partially or individually. The presence of an integrated education ecosystem is absolutely essential,” he said.
The local government welcomed the workshop, noting that concept alignment and actor mapping are needed to ensure future policy advocacy is well-targeted and has long-term impact.
Through this workshop, it is expected that a strong actor mapping document will be produced, along with strategic recommendations to support the sustainability of efforts to improve the quality of education for children in Tanggamus District.
