KREASI Ketapang Strengthens Capacity of Education Officials and Teachers in Simple Research

KREASI Ketapang, implemented by Majelis Dikdasmen dan PNF PP Muhammadiyah, organized a Capacity Building Training for Education Officials and Teachers on Simple Research and the Application of Evidence-Based Best Practices on Thursday–Friday, 25–26 September 2025.

The training featured two speakers: Chair of Majelis Dikdasmen dan PNF PW Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Barat, Amrozi Zakso, and Lecturer at PGRI University Pontianak, Nurhadianto.

In his session, Amrozi Zakso emphasized the importance of mini research for teachers. According to him, simple research can even be done individually.

“Mini research can be conducted on a small scale. Abroad, a two-month descriptive research project is taken seriously. But in Indonesia, it’s often laughed at. In fact, the results can offer real solutions to teachers’ problems—such as discipline or professional commitment issues,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Nurhadianto highlighted the importance of evidence-based numeracy practices in teaching. He gave examples of how addition and subtraction can be taught creatively so that children can grasp the concepts more easily.

“The key is teacher creativity. Children enjoy learning through play, movement, and experimentation. For instance, using play money or counting steps. This makes numeracy feel relatable and fun, and it boosts children’s confidence,” he said.

This training is expected to encourage teachers in Ketapang to continue developing their creativity, conduct simple research, and implement evidence-based best practices in their teaching and learning activities.
