KREASI Nias Selatan Holds Instructional Leadership Training

KREASI Nias Selatan organized an instructional leadership training in Telukdalam on 19–21 August 2025. The training was specifically aimed at school principals under the Program of KREASI, with the goal of strengthening their capacity in instructional leadership.

The training covered a range of topics, including understanding the school principal competency framework, data-driven leadership practices using the Education Report, pedagogical strategies for literacy and numeracy, and the design of academic supervision. In addition, the sessions emphasized the mainstreaming of critical issues such as GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion), climate change, and child protection in school leadership.

The three-day program featured two speakers. On the first day, Vice Chair 1 of IGI Sumatera Utara, Rita Andriani Sitorus, presented materials on the school principal competency model, the concept of instructional leadership, and the key indicators of learning leadership in the Education Report.

On the second day, Chair of IGI Jawa Timur, Sukari,  delivered sessions on the use of the Education Report as a basis for decision-making and the integration of GEDSI in education.

Rita continued with sessions on pedagogical strategies and supervision, while the final day was led entirely by Sukari. His materials covered climate change, school resilience, and child protection in educational settings.

This activity reflects KREASI Nias Selatan’s ongoing commitment to strengthening educator capacity. By equipping school principals with instructional leadership skills, the program aims to bring about systemic and sustainable improvements in target schools, ultimately fostering more equitable and advanced education across the district.

Throughout the training, participants were actively engaged and demonstrated strong collaboration during group discussions. They also shared best practices and experiences related to the challenges they face. The training concluded with an evaluation, with the hope that school principals will apply their knowledge and skills to drive improvements in their respective schools. The event was officially closed by a representative from the Nias Selatan Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
