KREASI Pesisir Barat Encourages BOSDA and APBD Allocation for Teacher Development

KREASI Pesisir Barat conducted a Coaching Clinic on Integrating Continuous Professional Development into the Regional School Operational Assistance (BOSDA) and Regional Budget (APBD) to promote funding schemes and policies related to teacher development.

One of the participating school principals, Tri, stated, “If there is an additional funding allocation, teachers will be more prosperous, which will improve the quality of education. When teachers are well-supported, they can teach students using more creative learning media.”

Attended by representatives from Bappeda, the Education Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), and school/madrasah principals, the activity involved inter-agency dialogue, learning, and planning in Pesisir Barat Regency. The event maximized opportunities to support integrated, gender-responsive, and inclusive teacher competency development.

Following this, a Follow-up Action Plan Discussion was held on budgeting for continuous competency improvement. This aimed to strengthen stakeholders’ understanding—especially school principals, treasurers, and education program managers—of relevant policies, financing schemes, and best practices in allocating budgets for teacher development.

One participant, Sumadi, shared, “We exchanged best practices, since every school has different needs and therefore different schemes. We can learn from each other going forward.”

This discussion space played a crucial role as a platform to exchange good practices, experiences, and challenges, enabling the development of strategies to enhance the effectiveness of funding and improve teacher professionalism.

This reflective forum is expected to contribute to long-term goals: improving policy and instructional practices for foundational skills to enhance learning quality in schools across Pesisir Barat.

“Strengthening teacher capacity in professionalism is key to sustainably improving education quality in Pesisir Barat. In the future, we hope BOSDA and APBD budget allocations will support school needs in providing the best education for children,” said Slamet, Education Supervisor at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pesisir Barat.
