KREASI Presents Policy Brief in KIX EMAP Learning Cycle 7

KREASI Save the Children Data Analyst Officer, Cendani Kusuma Ayu, participated in the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) EMAP Learning Cycle 7, facilitated by NORRAG. This activity served as an international learning and collaboration platform for researchers, academics, teachers, education practitioners, and civil society organizations to develop evidence-based policy recommendations.

During the process, Cendani worked with a multidisciplinary team from various provinces in Indonesia to analyze education data, particularly factors that influence students’ literacy and numeracy outcomes at the elementary school and madrasah ibtidaiyah levels. The findings of the study were then formulated into a policy brief titled “School Agency as a Key to Improving Students’ Literacy and Numeracy in Primary Schools (SD/MI).”

This policy brief highlights the importance of school agency in improving the quality of learning. The study analyzes four main domains: teacher reflection, psychological support, instructional leadership, and teaching methods, as well as their influence on students’ literacy and numeracy outcomes in Indonesia.

As part of the dissemination of KIX learning outcomes, Cendani served as a speaker at the SEAMEO Centre Policy Research Network (CPRN) Summit 2026, held in Jakarta on 11 June 2026. This regional education forum brought together researchers, policymakers, and education practitioners from across Southeast Asia to share good practices and encourage cross-sector collaboration in education.

During the forum, Cendani presented the policy brief developed together with the KIX EMAP Learning Cycle 7 team. The policy brief was produced after seven months of training and discussion.

The presentation encouraged constructive discussion on how the concept of school agency can be effectively implemented within Indonesia’s education system.

Cendani’s involvement in KIX EMAP Learning Cycle 7 demonstrates KREASI’s active contribution to strengthening the ecosystem of knowledge, research, and education policy advocacy. Through this participation, KREASI also supports the use of data and evidence as a basis for formulating strategies to improve children’s literacy and numeracy in Indonesia.
