School Principals and Teachers in Morotai Receive Support to Strengthen Differentiated and Deep Learning

KREASI Pulau Morotai, implemented by the Stimulant Institute, held a Workshop on Strengthening the Role of School Principals and Master Teachers on 17 January 2025. This activity aimed to reinforce the implementation of differentiated learning and deep learning in line with Minister of Education Regulation (Permendikbudristek) No. 12 of 2024 on the Implementation of the Curriculum.

The workshop was designed to equip school principals and teachers with operational understanding and instructional leadership so they can design and drive learning practices that are learner-centered, meaningful, and have a real impact on improving learning outcomes, particularly at the early childhood (PAUD) and primary school levels.

The activity was carried out in parallel in two sub-districts, Morotai Selatan and Morotai Utara. Teachers were not only given material but were also invited to develop lesson plans that integrate differentiated learning and deep learning. School principals had their role strengthened as instructional leaders who foster collaboration and innovation within their schools.

Irwan, a facilitator for the activities in Morotai Selatan, emphasized the importance of implementing both approaches in classroom practice.

“In a single learning session there must be differentiated learning and deep learning. The two are a single unit and cannot be separated,” he said.

As a follow-up to ensure the materials and practices do not stop at this event alone, school principals received a supervision template to support peer learning in their schools. Meanwhile, teachers received a self-assessment template to guide their independent professional learning.

This activity is expected to help realize learning practices that are responsive to students’ needs and aligned with curriculum policy implementation in Pulau Morotai District.
