A total of 29 participants, consisting of school principals and Master Trainers (MT), attended the Coordination and Evaluation Meeting for School Principals and Master Trainers of KREASI intervention schools in Halmahera Utara on 12 January 2026. The meeting discussed the sustainability of mentoring for KREASI intervention schools in Halmahera Utara that have implemented In-House Training (IHT), as well as various capacity-building efforts carried out since February 2025.

Out of 29 KREASI intervention schools in Halmahera Utara, at least 15 have been selected to continue the mentoring process until February 2026, before entering the second year of KREASI Program implementation.

Various positive responses from teachers, principals, and Master Trainers reflected their strong commitment to continuously improving students’ literacy and numeracy in Halmahera Utara.

KREASI Save the Children District Representative, Yohanes Bria, stated that the mentoring efforts are intended to strengthen the capacity of teachers and principals in delivering quality instruction. He added that the second year of KREASI implementation will begin on 1 April 2026.

“Of course, we will continue to pay attention to and conduct monitoring with the existing schools alongside the new KREASI target schools,” said Yohanes.

During the discussion, several agreements were reached, including the mentoring schedule for the 15 selected schools. Schools also provided input and feedback regarding the implementation of IHT throughout 2025, as well as the types of support needed to ensure the activities can be carried out optimally.
