Melvin’s Story Facilitating Training in the KKG of Nias Selatan

As a facilitator, Melvin is enthusiastic about learning. She repeated experiences participating in KREASI trainings have shaped her, sparking significant changes that inspire both herself and those around her.

“There are many things I can learn,” she said. “Not just receiving the material, but also being motivated to keep creating and becoming more creative.”

Melvin was trusted to be a facilitator in the In-House Training (IHT) for KKG numeracy. She went directly into the field. She proudly saw how teachers from KREASI’s target schools were starting to feel motivated. Melvin believes that education cannot be delivered through words alone.

“Teachers can create innovation and creativity,” she said.

This experience sparked great hope for Melvin. She hopes that KREASI can organize follow-up activities to train teachers to create their own teaching aids from recycled materials or natural resources that are abundantly available around them, especially in Nias Selatan.

“From stones, seashells, to rubber seeds—everything can be used,” she suggested.

Melvin believes this motivation will encourage teachers to be more independent and innovative.
