80 Years of Indonesia’s Independence, KREASI Receives Awards 

The Program of KREASI being implemented by Save the Children together with seven local implementing partner organizations, received various awards from local governments in KREASI’s intervention districts.  

The awards were presented during the ceremonies and celebrations of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday, `17 August 2025. KREASI was recognized by local governments for its contribution to advancing education and was awarded for its impact over the past several months. 

Nias Utara 

The Regent of  Nias Utara, Amizaro Waruwu presented an award to Save the Children as the national implementer of KREASI and to Article 33 Indonesia as the implementing partner in Nias Utara, during the Independence Day Ceremony at the Lapangan Tribun Nias Utara.  

The certificate was symbolically handed over by the Chairman of the Nias Utara Parliament (DPRD), Yaaman Telaumbanua, to the District Representative of KREASI Nias Utara (Save the Children), Ekali Frida Lumbantoruan, while the Vice Regent of Nias Utara, Yusman Zega, symbolically presented a certificate to the KREASI Nias Utara Program Manager (Article 33 Indonesia), Fajar Zalukhu.   

Ketapang 

In Ketapang, the Teacher and Education Personnel Development Center (BGTK) of Kalimantan Barat Province presented an award to KREASI Ketapang, implemented by the Majelis Dikdasmen dan PNF PP Muhammadiyah, in recognition of its contribution and dedication to strengthening teachers’ capacity.  

The award was handed over directly by the Head of BGTK Kalimantan Barat, Wasimin, to the KREASI Ketapang Program Coordinator, Santoso Setio, during the Independence Day Ceremony in Pontianak.  

Kayong Utara 

In Kayong Utara, the BGTK of Kalimantan Barat Province also presented an award to KREASI Kayong Utara, implemented by the same Muhammadiyah council, for its contribution and dedication to strengthening teachers’ capacity. The award was presented directly by Head of BGTK Kalimantan Barat, Wasimin, to the KREASI Kayong Utara Program Coordinator, Anti Angraini, also during the Independence Day Ceremony in Pontianak. 

Pulau Morotai 

Meanwhile, in Pulau Morotai, KREASI Morotai, run by the Stimulant Institute, won third runner-up in the poco-poco parade competition organized by the Government of Morotai to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence. The award was presented directly by the Regent of Pulau Morotai, Rusli Sibua to the KREASI Morotai District Representative, Sonya Debora.
