KREASI Kayong Utara held a Training on Best Practices for Improving Literacy and Numeracy in Educational Institutions on 30 January 2026. The activity was attended by educators from various schools and learning centers.
This training is a follow-up to a series of previous trainings conducted by KREASI Kayong Utara. Its main focus is to strengthen teachers’ understanding in applying good literacy and numeracy teaching practices that have a direct impact on improving students’ learning quality.
Head of the Division for Teachers and Education Personnel at the Kayong Utara District Education Office, Purwati, stated that this activity is expected to continuously improve the competence of teaching staff. According to her, every training that has been carried out must bring a tangible impact on the quality of learning in schools.
“This activity is a follow-up to previous trainings. Hopefully, all activities that have been implemented can lead to an overall improvement in teacher competence in Kayong Utara District,” said Purwati.
On that occasion, Purwati also emphasized the importance of documentation in the learning process. She mentioned that teaching documentation is one of the indicators in teacher performance assessment, as well as a reflection tool to improve the quality of instruction.
In addition, she stressed that student assessment must be based on accurate data. Such data, she added, is essential as a basis for evaluation and for planning instruction in the following school year.
“Student assessment must be data-based so it can be used as the right evaluation material for improving learning in the next academic year,” she added.
Through this training, KREASI Kayong Utara hopes that educators will be able to apply the best practices they gained in their teaching and learning processes, so that improvements in literacy and numeracy in educational institutions can be realized in a sustainable way.
