The Program of KREASI or Kolaborasi untuk Edukasi Anak Indonesia (Collaboration for the Education of Indonesian Children), implemented by Save the Children, has received the prestigious Mohammad Syafei Awards. The recognition was presented directly by the Founder of the Yayasan Guru Belajar, Najeela Shihab, to KREASI Chief of Party, Alifah Sri Lestari, on Sunday, 12 October 2025.
Alifah expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the award, stating that it was the collaboration of all stakeholders that has strengthened the KREASI.
“At KREASI, we believe that everyone can contribute to advancing education. Collaboration is the key to everything we do. This award is for all of us—our partners, stakeholders, school principals, teachers, and students,” said Alifah.

The Mohammad Syafei Awards is given to individuals or organizations that contribute to improving the quality of education in local areas and strengthening a resilient and sustainable educational ecosystem.
KREASI received the award as recognition of its dedication and support in building educational capacity across various regions of Indonesia.
In her speech, Najeela emphasized the vital role of teachers as agents of change—not just within classrooms but in their communities.
“Teachers don’t just lead classrooms, they lead change,” she stated.

The Mohammad Syafei Awards ceremony was part of the Temu Pendidik Nusantara (TPN) XII, an annual event hosted by the Yayasan Guru Belajar, which brings together education stakeholders for two days from Saturday (11 October) to Sunday (12 October).
This year’s TPN included a range of discussion forums, one of which was themed “Collaboration for Sustainable Education.” One of the speakers was Mahrita, Literacy Support from KREASI, who shared KREASI’s best practices in building educational ecosystems across its eight intervention districts.
