KREASI Nias Utara held a two-day training for Master Teachers (MT) on June 17–18, 2025, in Lotu, Nias Utara Regency, Sumatera Utara Province. This activity aimed to provide participants with references for learning resources that can be used to improve literacy and numeracy skills.
Through this event, participants were expected to be able to utilize relevant learning resources according to their instructional needs. In addition, participants were introduced to a platform for sharing best practices as part of ongoing professional development.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs of Nias Utara, Yamamoni Laoli, and the Head of Education Office of Nias Utara, Asanurdin Zendrato. On the first morning session, Basic Education (BE) Officer of KREASI Nias Utara, Wahyu Setiono, and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Officer of KREASI Nias Utara, Wikan Cahyo Namaskara, led the MTs in reflecting on the previous training and dissemination activities, while also exploring good practices and challenges faced in the field. The BE Officer also shared strategies for classroom management, especially in managing time during dissemination activities.
The afternoon session featured a national-level speaker Executive Principal of Sekolah Murid Merdeka, Indiera Karina Nathania. She presented the material titled “Identifying and Using Learning Resources According to Needs to Improve Literacy and Numeracy Skills in Early Childhood.” This material aimed to equip participants with the ability to identify and use appropriate learning resources to support early childhood development. The session was delivered interactively, including both presentations and discussions.

On the second day, the focus shifted to practical application. The MTs were divided into three groups and given case studies to develop a Learning Plan Canvas and Learning Resources tailored to the needs of their respective schools. Participants then conducted teaching practice sessions under direct supervision from the facilitators.


This training is expected to strengthen the capacity of Master Teachers in classroom management and the effective use of learning resources, as part of efforts to improve the quality of early childhood education in Nias Utara.
