KREASI Nias Utara, implemented by Article 33 Indonesia, conducted a series of partnership visits and coordination meetings with the Center for Child Study and Protection (PKPA) Nias Branch, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Nias, and the Center for Disaster Risk Management & Community Development Studies (CDRM & CDS) of UHN Gunungsitoli on 7–10 April 2026. The activity was carried out to strengthen support for the implementation of the second year of the KREASI Program in Nias Utara District, particularly in improving the quality of education, child protection, and inclusive education through collaboration and recommendations for prospective Regional Master Facilitators.
During the series of visits, KREASI Nias Utara presented the implementation plan for several second-year program packages, including Teacher Professional Development (TPD), Principal Professional Development (PPD), and the Violence Prevention and Response Team (TPPK). These programs are designed to strengthen the capacity of teachers and school principals in foundational literacy and numeracy learning, inclusive education, and the strengthening of school-based child protection systems.
In the meeting with PKPA Nias Branch, the KREASI Program discussed the strengthening of child protection systems through the establishment and strengthening of TPPK teams in education units. PKPA Nias Branch expressed its support for the implementation of the second year of the KREASI Program and stated its willingness to recommend facilitator candidates according to program needs.
Meanwhile, during the coordination meeting with FKIP Universitas Nias, the faculty expressed its support for strengthening the capacity of educators in Nias Utara District. Several study programs, such as Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) and Indonesian Language Education, were considered to have the potential to support the involvement of lecturers as Regional Master Trainers. In addition, FKIP also encouraged the establishment of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) to strengthen administrative support and activity implementation.
The KREASI Program also held an audience with CDRM & CDS UHN Gunungsitoli to explore opportunities for collaboration in inclusive education, child protection, and disability issues. During the discussion, the KREASI Program conveyed the need for trainers who have the capacity to support teachers and school principals, particularly for the TPPK and inclusive education packages.
CDRM stated that although it currently has a limited number of staff and a relatively high workload, opportunities for collaboration remain open, including activities related to inclusive education and the upcoming commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Through this series of coordination meetings, the KREASI Nias Utara Program hopes that collaboration with various organizations and institutions across Nias Island can strengthen efforts to improve the quality of education, child protection, and the development of inclusive and contextual education in Nias Utara District.
As a follow-up, KREASI Nias Utara will send official letters requesting the availability of Master Trainers to each partner institution. The partner institutions will then identify and recommend candidates according to program needs and continue coordination regarding the selection and assignment of facilitators.
