KREASI Ketapang Optimizes Education Quality through Literacy–Numeracy Harmonization and Mentoring

KREASI Ketapang held an activity titled “Harmonization of Literacy and Numeracy Monitoring and Mentoring” on Wednesday (5 November 2025).

The activity was attended by principals of SD/MI and TK/RA schools targeted by KREASI, as well as school supervisors. Its goal was to ensure that education program implementation runs effectively in each education unit.

In his remarks, Head of the Ketapang District Education Office, Ucup Supriatna, emphasized the importance of the implementation stage in the curriculum. He underlined that drafting a curriculum is relatively easy, but its implementation in the field is the main challenge that educators must face.

“Monitoring comes first, then mentoring. This is an important activity in the implementation stage, related to how teachers improve their literacy, numeracy, and teaching skills. Because in curriculum theory, the most difficult stage is implementation, the stage known as the real curriculum,” said Ucup.

The activity was designed to align understanding and strengthen integrated strategies among education stakeholders. Through a collaborative approach, the program is expected to bridge the gap between regional policies and classroom practices.

In practice, monitoring serves as a proactive tool to identify specific needs and to share good practices between schools. Meanwhile, the mentoring sessions focus on empowering teachers and principals with up-to-date pedagogical skills, including the application of differentiated instruction and the use of assessment data.

This approach is expected to accelerate improvements in learning outcomes and ensure the sustainability of literacy and numeracy programs in Ketapang District.

At the end of the activity, the Ketapang District Education Office expressed its appreciation to KREASI Ketapang, which is implemented by the Majelis Dikdasmen dan PNF PP Muhammadiyah, for dedication and consistency in supporting efforts to improve education quality in the region.

The Harmonization of Monitoring and Mentoring activity is expected to become a strategic step in strengthening synergy between educational institutions and the local government, in order to produce graduates who are competent, adaptive, and ready to face future challenges in Ketapang.
