KREASI once again held its signature talk show, Jejak KREASI: Youth, Development Partners, and Government Synergy for a Safe and Equitable Ecosystem, virtually via Zoom and YouTube Live on Monday, 13 October 2025. The event served as a cross-sectoral meeting space for government representatives, civil society organizations, youth, and education actors to discuss child protection, inclusion, and meaningful participation.
The panel featured four speakers from diverse backgrounds: Acting Deputy for Special Child Protection at the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA), Ratna Susianawati; Program Manager of Stimulant Institute (KREASI Morotai’s local partner), Yenny Djelalu; Content Creator with Disability and Researcher at AIDRAN, Elo Kusuma Mandeville; and Representative from the Children and Youth Advisory Network (CYAN), Ridwan.
Ridwan emphasized the importance of meaningful—not merely symbolic—child participation. He stressed that children’s involvement in social issues must be grounded in literacy, concrete action, and policy advocacy. Elo from AIDRAN added that safe spaces must also be disability-inclusive. “How can people with disabilities thrive if the doors of opportunity are not opened from the start?” he questioned.
Yenny shared best practices from the Tong Baku Jaga movement, which promotes shared responsibility among communities and schools in protecting children. Through collaboration with school-based TPPKs and village-based PATBMs, Morotai has initiated multiple child protection policies, including within madrasahs.
Meanwhile, Ratna Susianawati reaffirmed the government’s commitment to comprehensive child protection, outlining key regulations such as Presidential Regulation No. 78/2021 and the National Roadmap for Online Child Protection. “The key to child protection is sustainable cross-sector collaboration,” she asserted.
Attended by more than 130 participants, the event featured an engaging discussion. Critical questions arose on topics such as preventing bullying in practice, ensuring safe spaces are not merely symbolic, and how to build confidence in children with disabilities.
